PHASE II: DEVELOPING THE BUSINESS PLAN

Having submitted your application to the competition, the names of the 60 successful applicants whose submissions have been selected as one of the top business ideas are announced on 6 June. If your name is one of the 60 you become a Nyamuka Zambia semi-finalist and enter Phase II.

This is when the hard work really begins.

After the graduation meeting on 9 June, you will now be very busy developing your business plan. The first thing that will happen is that you will be introduced to your personal business adviser who will help you to take your business idea and turn it into a proper business plan. This concise but comprehensive plan must be submitted to the Nyamuka Zambia team no later than 11 July, 17:00 hrs.

These 60 plans will then be scrutinised by a panel of independent judges who will select the top 10.

Who will make it through to the final stage of the competition? All will be revealed on 16 August!

After you have submitted your plan all semi-finalists will attend the Nyamuka Zambia National Business Conference on 20 July. Held at the Mulungushi Conference Centre in Lusaka, you will have the chance to hear and learn from captains of industry, successful entrepreneurs and business people from many sectors. This is a chance for you to discuss your ideas, question experts and meet people who might help you now or in the future.

Entry for semi-finalists is free but even if you did not make it through to this stage of the competition – or didn’t apply to the competition this time round – then fear not. Tickets will be on sale to the public through Computicket.
